Littlehaven Hotel – South Shields

Harbour Suite and Bedroom corridor
Durastic Limited was brought in on a tight programme to renew the carpet in the hotels main wedding and seminar suite as part of a 6 day full refurbishment of the Harbour Suite as well as the bedroom corridor ding to the Harbour Suite. Our fitters worked to the hotels strict programme during the planned refurbishment in between two scheduled
weddings.

Our fitters commenced our scope of the work on the Sunday morning following a wedding the day before and worked with and around other trades to have the suite fully refurbished by the following Friday lunchtime. This was a critical cut-off point for the hotel as hotel and catering staff required the room back in operation to allow sufficient time to have the suite dressed in readiness for a bridal reception that evening as well as the main wedding on the Saturday.

Hotel management expressed their appreciation to the staff and fitters of Durastic Ltd for being able to complete our element of the refurbishment in the time frame given whilst overcoming un-foreseen problems encountered during the refurbishment.

Main Kitchen
Following on from the successful completion and assistance given to the hotel with the refurbishment of the Harbour Suite, Durastic Ltd was employed to carry out the full strip out and renewal of the vinyl flooring within the Main kitchen as part of a major up-grade. To assist and cooperate with other trades it was agreed our fitters would undertake our specific scope of work on a night-shift basis allowing maximum time for all other trades to carry out their own elements of the scope during normal working hours. This flexibility was greatly appreciated by hotel management as without this co-operation it would have been incredibly difficult to have completed all aspects of the up-grade required.

As a direct result of completing these elements of work on schedule and to the hotels satisfaction, we have carried out further items of work at the hotel including repairs to the Conservatory kitchen floor to meet Health, Safety and Hygiene standards as well as the renewal of one of the emergency exit staircases.  There are also other items of work pending once final dates have been agreed.
