RFA Fort Victoria Re-Fit

After a three year deployment 3 years in the Arabian Gulf supplying the Royal Navy warships, RFA Fort Victoria returned to Cammell Laird Shipbuilders in Birkenhead for a vital refit worth £47M. Lasting 10 months Durastic are proud to have played a major role in the flooring requirements for the refit and completed our works on time and to budget.

The 200m long vessel had a complete overhaul, and Durastic uplifted the majority of the existing deck screeds down to the steel deck plates.

Working for 4 months with 6 of our fitters meeting timescales set and budgets given, we laid approximately 1800m² of screeding using our own Durastic S229 underlay and Durastic Decorflake system to alleyways, stairs and mess rooms.

All stairwells were fitted with new aluminium stair nosings, totalling 400 metres in length.
